Gentrack begins Airport 20/20 software projects at five new UK airports

Gentrack Group (NZX/ASX: GTK) announced today the start of projects to implement its 20/20 solutions at Aberdeen, Glasgow and Southampton Airports (AGS) as well as the Peel Group owned Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield and Durham Tees Valley Airports in the UK.

Following comprehensive selection processes with AGS Airports Limited (AGS) and Peel Group, Gentrack was selected to implement its 20/20 Airport Operating System (AOS) proven in airports globally.aberdeen image

Gentrack’s 20/20 General Manager Nigel Farley is pleased with the win that takes the number of airports in the UK and Ireland using 20/20 solutions to ten.

“These are exciting airports to work with given Aberdeen Airport recently won the ‘Best Airport (under 6 million passengers) in the UK’ at the AOA awards, and Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield was named by Which? as ‘2014 Best UK Airport’, the fastest growing airport in the north of England and fifth fastest in the country. These projects further cement Gentrack’s growing position of leadership in the UK airports market which also includes Bristol, Birmingham, Newcastle and London City airports.”

AGS has signed for the 20/20 Billing System to streamline its management of aero and non-aero revenues derived from landing fees, aircraft movements and other airport resources, with a scheduled go live at the end of September this year.

“As an important component of the 20/20 Airport Operating System, we’ve had some great success implementing our 20/20 Billing System at airports in the UK, Australia, NZ, Asia, Canada and North America.  Our experience with these systems and best practice airport billing processes is such that we are able to deliver an end-to-end solution in a fairly short timeframe compared to competitors, with an investment to fit the budget of most airports.”

Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield and Durham Tees Valley Airport also join AGS Airports, recently signing for an extensive multi-airport systems project to support its future growth.

“We’ve experienced significant throughput increases in freight and 9% passenger growth in the last year” said Mike Cotterill, Finance Director Peel Airports Management. “We went to market for a state of the art system to support our continued growth, and selected Gentrack’s Airport 20/20 software after a very competitive review process. They proved to be the outstanding candidate in terms of product, team experience, enthusiasm, project management approach and after-sales support. The Airport looks forward to building on its success by working with Gentrack.”

The project includes the implementation of the fully integrated 20/20 Airport Operational Database (AODB), Flight Information Display (FIDS) and Aero Billing solutions.

“The flows of information across the airport community and to external stakeholders such as passengers and airlines is growing exponentially” continued Farley. “The value of Airport Operating Systems that enable enhanced collaborative decision making by all airport stakeholders are now viewed as critical components within the airport community. Through implementation of the integrated 20/20 FIDS, AODB, Billing and Resource Management solutions, we have been able to streamline the flows of operational data to ensure that all stakeholders can collaborate in a timely manner with access to accurate information on all aspects of the airport community. Our newest airport customers within AGS and the Peel Group will be able to benefit from this improved level of real-time information and collaboration.”

The 20/20 solution from Gentrack has been used by airports globally for over 35 years and includes solutions to support Aeronautical Billing, Resource Management, Flight Information Display, Collaborative Decision Making, Interactive Dashboards, Airport Intelligence, Property Management and an Airport Operational Database.
