Auckland International Airport Selects 20/20

Gentrack, a leading provider of integrated Airport Information Systems has confirmed that New Zealand’s largest airport, Auckland International Airport (AIAL), has signed an agreement to implement Gentrack’s comprehensive 20/20 Airport Operational System (AOS).

The AOS, based on a virtualised Microsoft technology platform includes the following fully integrated core components; Airport Operational Database (AODB), Message Broker, Flight Information Display System (FIDS), Aeronautical Billing, Resource Management System (RMS) Collaborative Decision Making (CDM) and Interactive Dashboards. The AOS will provide a platform for Auckland Airport to ensure M system will reduce delays, improve the punctuality of events and optimise the utilisation of resources at the airport.

The airport was very clear that they are investing in the future growth of the airport and were looking for a partner to successfully collaborate with and support their vision for their ‘Faster, Stronger, Higher’ strategy. 20/20 was selected as the best fit to deliver technology that provides new ways of operating and communicating to transform operational capability that will ensure Auckland is the passengers’ favourite airport.  The 20/20 AOS will assist Auckland Airport in providing fast, efficient and effective operations.  This excellence will include times of short term unplanned events and during daily volume peaks.

20/20 is already in operation at Sydney, Melbourne Brisbane, Adelaide and Gold Coast Airports in Australia along with Wellington and Christchurch Airports in New Zealand. The addition of Auckland Airport as a customer means that 20/20 will now be running in 8 of the 10 busiest airports in Australasia including the four busiest, strongly positioning it as the leading AOS in the region.

Auckland Airport is the largest airport in New Zealand and the 4th largest in Australasia with over 14 million passengers passing through the airport every year. The project implementation has already started and is due for completion Q4 2014.
