Gentrack appoints Andy Green CBE as new Chair

Gentrack Group Ltd (NZX/ASX: GTK) is pleased to announce the appointment of Andy Green CBE as Chair of its board of directors. Andy has an extensive background in technology leadership including CEO of Logica, a £4bn turnover listed IT services Company, and CEO of BT Global Services, the enterprise arm of British Telecom. Andy spends his time in both Australia and the UK which will contribute both a local presence and global perspective to Gentrack’s customers and shareholders.

Andy brings transformation and technology leadership to the role of Gentrack Chair. In 2020 Andy was awarded Commander of the British Empire (CBE) for his contributions to the Information Technology and British Space Industries. His passion to transform the industry to support sustainable water and energy resources is further demonstrated by his roles as the Chair of WaterAid UK and as a UK National Infrastructure Commissioner.

Additional current positions include Chair of Lowell Group, a Permira backed credit management company, Senior Independent Director at Airtel Africa, and Non-executive Director at Link Administration Holdings, an ASX listed provider of financial administration services.

Acting Chair Fiona Oliver said, “The Board has undertaken an extensive search for a permanent Chair, and we’re delighted to welcome Andy to Gentrack. Working alongside the Group’s new CEO, Gary Miles, Andy brings a wealth of technology experience, passion for sustainability and a global perspective to oversee Gentrack’s strategic delivery and focus on growing value for customers and shareholders. Basing himself in both Australia and the UK throughout the year is also advantageous, presenting opportunities for Andy to engage and add value across the global Group footprint.”
Andy takes up the new role on 2 November and his appointment will be put to shareholders at the Annual Meeting in February 2021. Acting Chair Fiona Oliver will resume her role as Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee on 2 November.

Director Retirement – Andy Coupe

Gentrack also announces the retirement of Andy Coupe as a Non-executive Director of the Group, effective 2 November 2020. Andy, who has been a director of Gentrack since the dual listing on NZX/ASX in 2014, had advised the board last year that he did not intend offering himself for re-election. Considering this and with the new Chair commencing his role, Andy has resigned to maintain aggregate director fees within the cap. The Board thanks Andy for his significant contribution to Gentrack Group and wishes him well in his future endeavours.
