Gentrack Energy Demand Billing System goes live at Energy Response

3 December 2010: Gentrack is pleased to announce the successful go live of its Energy Demand Billing system for the first of five energy markets in which Energy Response operates.
Energy Response, the largest aggregator of Demand Side Response in Australia and New Zealand, is now using Gentrack’s specialist utility billing and CRM software to store and manage customer and meter data, and to perform complex billing functions for Demand Side Response (DSR) activities in New Zealand’s Instantaneous Reserves market http://www.energyresponse.com/?pageid=176&parentid=&cid=6&intRegionID=%27%27#128
Gentrack Velocity enables Energy Response to accurately and efficiently monitor the supply of interruptible load by high energy users, typically large commercial and industrial businesses, and validate payments made to participants based on performance in any demand side event.
“Energy Response has found what is proving to be an innovative demand side model that provides the load respective electricity markets need to maintain balance of the electricity network during peaking events” said James Docking, Gentrack CEO.
“We are extremely pleased to deliver phase 1 of the project, proving we have the systems and the knowledge to support demand side innovation, and the R&D investment to ensure our demand response billing solutions continue to evolve to support smart meter and smart grid technologies.”
Phase 2 of the project is underway to implement Gentrack Velocity for Energy Response’s four additional markets in Australia including the Western Australia Reserve Capacity market and the NEM Energy Pool.
