Gentrack donates over £30,000 worth of IT equipment to Great Ormond Street Hospital as part of its sustainability and community engagement efforts

Gentrack has donated high-end IT equipment valued at over £30,000 to Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH), one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals. The donation forms part of our broader commitment to sustainability, community support, and impactful partnerships with charitable organisations. The IT equipment will help advance staff digital capabilities while promoting a second life for valuable technology.

Mike Carruthers, General Manager, EMEA at Gentrack, commented:

“At Gentrack, we believe in powering positive change, not just for our customers and the planet, but for the communities in which we operate. Supporting the incredible work of Great Ormond Street Hospital is a privilege. This donation reflects our values as a responsible, sustainable business and reinforces our commitment to causes that make a real difference.”

This initiative aligns with Gentrack’s sustainability strategy, which focuses on reducing waste and extending the lifecycle of equipment through circular economy principles – prioritising refurbishment and reuse, rather than contributing to landfill.

Both Gentrack and GOSH are active members of the Camden Climate Alliance, driving local-community focused sustainability action.

Mark Coker, CIO GOSH, commented:

“It is great to see such generous support from Gentrack that will add real value. At GOSH we’re committed to sustainable business practices and are one of the few UK hospitals to declare a climate emergency. These partnerships reflect our sustainable ethos and help both our planet and our people.”

The Great Ormond Street Hospital provides world-class care to children with complex illnesses and is a pioneer in paediatric research, education, and innovation. The hospital relies on charitable support to fund vital equipment, pioneering research, and family services that go beyond what the NHS can provide.
