Gentrack Scoops Prestigious ExportNZ Award

Gentrack is delighted to have won the regional accolade of Best Large Business (services exports) at last night’s Air New Zealand Cargo ExportNZ Awards 2018 event in Auckland.

The award recognises Gentrack’s success by net return to New Zealand’s economy as a result of operating in offshore markets. The aim of the ExportNZ awards programme is to inspire New Zealand firms to expand their business horizons, engage in exporting and grow internationally.

Ian Black, Gentrack’s Chief Executive, said: “It’s such a great honour to receive this highly sought-after award and a real testament to the value that we are returning to the New Zealand economy.

“From our beginnings in Auckland almost 30 years ago, Gentrack has become a global business of over 500 staff and enables over 200 utilities and airports in 20 countries to deliver great customer experiences and outcomes for their stakeholders. Gentrack wouldn’t be the business it is today without our great people and loyal customers, who have provided immense support over the years.

“This is an exciting time for Gentrack as we continue to grow our business on the global stage, and we continue to look forward to the opportunities that the future will bring to our business, our people and the sectors we serve.”

The awards application process involved an extensive process covering the company’s success in international markets, the impact it has had on New Zealand’s economy and Gentrack’s strategic direction.

The judges were impressed with Gentrack’s strategic planning framework and clear objectives, and noted the positive company culture, the level of engagement and the energised work environment as major contributors to the company’s success. Gentrack’s R&D focus was also highlighted as a strength, ensuring that the company retains its competitive edge and is well-placed to provide solutions for new market segments as these emerge.

As a winner of ExportNZ’s regional awards, Gentrack automatically qualifies for entry into this year’s New Zealand International Business Awards (NZIBA), run by New Zealand Trade & Enterprise.
