Horizon Power renews long-standing Gentrack partnership

Perth, Australia, 22 October 2026 – Gentrack, a leading provider of AI-ready billing and CRM software for utilities, today announced that Horizon Power is marking the next phase of its meter-to-cash modernisation program, including meter data management, customer information and billing systems after 16 years of ongoing partnership.

Ray Achemedei, Executive General Manager Technology, Horizon Power said: “Our customers and communities are at the centre of how we are shaping the energy future of regional and remote Western Australia. Modernising our metering and retail systems will provide a strong foundation to improve the customer experience, introduce new energy products and services, and give customers greater choice in how they participate in the energy transition.”

The programme marks the next phase in Horizon Power’s long-standing partnership with Gentrack, which has supported its billing and customer operations for the last16 years. With the technology modernisation, Horizon Power will move to Gentrack’s AI-enabled g2 billing platform, hosted on AWS, building on its existing technology foundation to support future customer needs, new products and services, operational priorities and its broader energy transition ambitions across regional and remote Western Australia.

Gary Miles, CEO, Gentrack, said: “Horizon Power has a unique role in Australia’s energy transition, delivering electricity across some of the country’s most geographically dispersed and remote communities. Having supported Horizon Power with our technology for the past 16 years, we are proud to deepen our partnership and continue evolving alongside them as they deliver greater choice, innovation and efficiency.”

The new platforms will strengthen resilience and cybersecurity, simplify operations and support accurate and efficient billing and customer service. They will also provide greater flexibility to introduce new energy products and time-of-use tariffs, supporting affordability, customer choice and Horizon Power’s broader energy transition ambitions.

The program builds on a long-standing relationship between Horizon Power and Gentrack, which has supported Horizon Power’s utility operations since 2010.
