Kansas City International Airport selects Airport 20/20 flight display system from Gentrack

25 February 2010: Gentrack, developer of the 20/20 Airport Management System, announced today a new contract to deliver its Multiple User Flight Information Display System (MUFIDS) and Airport Operational Database (AODB) to Kansas City International Airport in conjunction with upgrading its existing Audio Paging System.

“We were involved in a keenly contested global tender process and are pleased that the airport has recognized the capabilities and value that Gentrack’s integrated 20/20 Flight Information Display System will deliver” said Nigel Farley, Airport 20/20 General Manager. “We have invested significantly in enhancing our proven FIDS and AODB capabilities and this project includes integrating our system with a large number of other systems at the airport via the 20/20 Message Broker.”

Kansas City International Airport is one of the largest airports in the USA serving over 11 million passengers between mid-America and other U.S and international destinations via 23 airlines. The airport went to market in early 2009 looking for a ‘mature, stable, proven reliable world-class system’ to support its terminal services strategy – all boxes ticked by the 20/20 Flight Information Display System explains Farley.

“The 20/20 solution is very comprehensive and proven in over 100 airports worldwide. We understand the importance of operational efficiency for any airport and our solutions are designed to support enhanced terminal services including the delivery of consistent information regarding gates, baggage, flights and general terminal information. We also provide income generation capabilities via our 20/20 Advertising System which is incorporated within the FIDS system.”

The 20/20 MUFIDS and IED Audio Paging System upgrade will be implemented within a 3 month project window with all current LED and LCD display equipment being retained throughout the airport.  The solution will be installed on servers running Microsoft Windows Server and Oracle database technology.

This contract follows a number of large wins for the New Zealand based software company in the airport and energy utility markets across the USA, Europe and Asia.  Moving to its new headquarters in May, Gentrack is experiencing unprecedented demand for its utility billing and CRM software solutions as utility businesses across energy, water and airport industries entertain the value and low risk of its ‘Best of Breed’ software solutions.
