Sydney International Airport Expands its use of 20/20

Gentrack, a market leader in airport operational solutions announces that Australia’s largest airport, Sydney Airport Corporation Limited (SACL), is expanding their use of 20/20 to include the comprehensive 20/20 Airport Operational System (AOS).

Airports around the world are increasingly seeking solutions that enable them to work more efficiently and effectively.  The 20/20 AOS provides the world’s only fully integrated airport operational system based upon the latest open standards.  Airport 20/20 General Manager Nigel Farley is looking forward to extending the already strong relationship they’ve developed with the airport. “Sydney Airport has been using the 20/20 Billing System for over 10 years.

Over that time we’ve formed a strong working relationship with the team there. We’re looking forward to developing those relationships further, leveraging our expertise as we support Sydney Airport through this next evolution of their operations. We’ll ensure their passengers receive an enhanced travelling experience and the airport’s resources are optimised, resulting in a lower cost to serve as well as faster, more efficient operations.”

The project will include the implementation of a range of core components of the 20/20 AOS including; Airport Operational Database (AODB), Flight Information Display System (FIDS) and Resource Management System (RMS). The signing of this contract comes just months after the announcement that Auckland International Airport has also signed on to implement 20/20’s complete AOS range.

In addition to the Billing System already in place at Sydney, 20/20 is also being used by Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Gold Coast Airports in Australia along with Wellington, Christchurch and soon Auckland Airport in New Zealand. 20/20 is now strongly positioned as the leading AOS in Australasia, running across the four largest airports in Australasia as well as eight of the busiest ten in the region.

This contract is the latest in a series on new wins helping to ensure that 2014 will be a record year for 20/20.

As well as the largest airport in Australia, Sydney International airport is also the largest airport in all of Australasia, with over 35 million passenger movements per year. The implementation has already started and is due for completion in 2014.
